Building and Grounds

Responsibilities

The Buildings and Grounds department is responsible for repairs and upkeep of the Fire District buildings; including, the fire stations and the administrative complex. It is also responsible for maintenance and annual testing of all (SCBA) for over 400 personnel, air conditioning systems, Fuel tanks and sites, landscaping and assists in the planning and design of new stations, as well a budget preparations for all capital improvements for all Fire stations.

Operations

Supervisor, Joey Casson oversees the operations within this department and reports directly to Deputy Chief Chambers. Under Joey's direction the Buildings and Grounds staff is responsible for self-contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA) for over 400 firefighters/EMTs and Paramedics who work for the Fire District. This includes face masks, air packs, air bottles used by personnel and carried on rescue vehicles and fire engines. Also the day to day maintenance and up keep of all 17 Fire Stations, fleet maintenance shop and the Administration complex.
