Assistant Fire Chief Jeff Lee began his career with St. Lucie County Fire District in 1997 after serving in the U.S. Navy where he was trained in aircraft firefighting, flood control, shipboard helicopter firefighting and shipboard firefighting. While employed with the fire district, Chief Lee returned to school and received his Bachelor’s Degree in Fire Science from Columbia Southern University.
In 2010, Chief Lee was awarded the Firefighter of the Year, and in 2011, the Treasure Coast Fire Chief’s Association named him the Emergency Services Provider of the year. He is currently a member of the SLCFD Pension Trust. He has also served on the SLCFD Health Trust and served in the labor organization as an executive board member, vice president and the president.
Under the direction of the Fire Chief, the Assistant Fire Chief leads all aspects of the fire district. Chief Jeff oversees all divisions, which include; Operations, Communications, Training, Finance, Information & Technology, Health & Safety, Human Resources, Community Risk Reduction, Logistics, Fleet Maintenance, Risk Management, Public Information, International Accreditation, Strategic Planning, Compliance and the Honor Guard.
