Overview
The St. Lucie County Fire District is an independent special district of the State of Florida and is separate from St. Lucie County, the City of Fort Pierce, and the City of Port St. Lucie. The Fire District is governed by elected and appointed officials who function as the policy-making body and serve as the Fire Board of Commissioners. The Fire Board employs the Fire Chief, Clerk-Treasurer, and the District’s Attorney to manage the operations, finances, and legal affairs of the District.
The Fire Board is comprised of seven members: two from the St. Lucie County Board of County Commissioners; two from the City Commission of the City of Fort Pierce; two from the City Council of the City of Port St. Lucie; and one member appointed by Florida's Governor.

contact the St. Lucie County Fire District's Human Resources Department at least 48 hours prior to the time of the scheduled meeting. All meetings are open to the public.
