Ambulance Billing
The Ambulance Billing Division manages billing and reimbursement for emergency ambulance transports provided by the St. Lucie County Fire District. The Division works to ensure compliance with applicable state and federal regulations while supporting the District’s emergency medical services system.
Ambulance Transport Rates
The following ambulance transport rates have been established by the Fire District:

Basic Life Support (BLS): $591

Advanced Life Support (ALS): $675

Advanced Life Support Level II (ALS II): $900

Specialty Care Transport (SCT): $1,012

Mileage: $11 per mile
Billing and Insurance Information
Fire District personnel attempt to obtain patient and insurance information during emergency responses whenever possible. However, due to the nature of some medical emergencies, complete information may not always be available at the time of transport.
If you have received an invoice and your insurance information was not provided during transport, please contact Ambulance Billing. Staff will be happy to assist you and submit a claim to your insurance provider on your behalf.
