Fire District Attorney Kim Sabol
Fire District Attorney Kim Sabol joined the St. Lucie County Fire District on May 1, 2017. As Fire District Attorney, she serves as legal counsel to the Board of Commissioners, Fire Chief, and District administration. The position is one of four appointed by the Board of Commissioners, alongside the Fire Chief, Medical Director, and Clerk-Treasurer.
Prior to joining the District, Ms. Sabol served as Staff Attorney and Labor and Employment Representative for the Martin County School District, where she acted as the District’s Chief Negotiator for labor contracts. She has been a member of The Florida Bar since 1993 and previously served as an Assistant State Attorney for Florida’s 19th Judicial Circuit.
Ms. Sabol earned her Juris Doctor from Stetson University College of Law, where she was a member of the International Legal Honor Society of Phi Delta Phi, and holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from Florida State University. She also served on the Board of Directors for Florida Educational Negotiators, a statewide management organization focused on employee and labor relations, serving as Secretary from 2011 to 2012 and President from 2014 to 2015.
As Fire District Attorney, Ms. Sabol provides legal guidance on labor and employment matters, collective bargaining, governance, public records, contracts, policy development, and regulatory compliance. She works closely with the Board of Commissioners and District leadership to support informed decision-making and ensure the Fire District operates in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.
