Fire Chief Jeff Lee began his career with the St. Lucie County Fire District in 1997 following his service in the United States Navy, where he received specialized training in aircraft firefighting, shipboard helicopter firefighting, shipboard firefighting, and flood control.
Throughout his career with the Fire District, Chief Lee has served in a variety of operational and administrative leadership roles, including Firefighter/EMT, Driver Engineer, Station Officer, Management Information Officer, Training Captain, Division Chief, Deputy Chief, Interim Clerk-Treasurer, and Assistant Fire Chief. During his tenure, he has overseen every division within the organization, providing leadership in operations, administration, training, technology, finance, and strategic planning.
Chief Lee holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Fire Science from Columbia Southern University and is both a Florida Public Pension Trustees Association (FPPTA) Certified Pension Trustee and a Florida Association of Special Districts (FASD) Certified District Manager.
As Fire Chief, Chief Lee provides executive leadership for all Fire District operations, personnel, programs, and services. He works closely with the Board of Commissioners and District leadership team to establish organizational priorities, guide strategic initiatives, ensure fiscal responsibility, and support the delivery of exceptional fire rescue and emergency medical services to the residents and visitors of St. Lucie County.
Chief Lee and his wife, Susan, are proud parents of twin daughters, Cassidy and Madison.
