Original fire station 5 was built in 1975 on Port St. Lucie Blvd. The current station was built in 2020 only a few miles northeast of busy Port St Lucie Blvd. Station 5 response zone is a large established area with minimal room for growth. However, the call volume in this area has increased steadily over the years and is now amongst the busiest stations within the St. Lucie County Fire District.
