Zone Nine is primarily a barrier island with one roadway to Fort Pierce and Indian River County. It is unique to the district in that the railroad tracks and the drawbridge offers complete isolation from additional St. Lucie County Fire District resources. With well established landing zones and communication with Indian River County’s Stations 2 and 6, mutual aid can be rendered.
