Citizens Fire Academy


The Citizens Fire Academy is a FREE 6 week program designed to give an overview of the St. Lucie County Fire District, Emergency operartions, Public Safety Complex, and other emergency services.

What is CFA?
 Provides an overview of the St. Lucie County Fire District, EOC, Public Safety Complex and other emergency services
 Emphasizes the role citizens play in prevention efforts
 Taught by firefighters and administrators

Who can attend:
 Open to those 18 years or older who live or work in St. Lucie County

When/where are classes held?
 Runs for six weeks
 Classes start at 5:30 p.m.
 Various locations including fire stations

Why should you attend?
 Learn about services that St. Lucie County Fire District provides
 Make your home, workplace, and com-munity safer

 HOW emergency calls are dispatched to your home?
 WHY does an engine respond with an ambulance on medical emergencies?
 WHY multiple fire trucks are sent on a car accident or fire?
 HOW to make your home or business safer?

CFA is serious fun...
You’ll have the opportunity to experience and witness exciting things like:
 Hands-on fire extinguisher training
 Holding a fire hose while water is flowing
 Air Rescue demonstration
 Tactical Response Team demonstration
 Hazmat Team demonstration
