Battalion One:

The Battalion 1 Chiefs are housed at Fire Station 4 and are responsible for the operation of 5 Fire Stations.

The response area includes; The Saint Lucie Nuclear Power Plant, the Port of Ft. Pierce, North and South Hutchinson Islands, three large nursing homes, numerous assisted living facilities,  Lawnwood  Regional Medical Trauma Center, Indian River State College, Indian River Academy, Ft. Pierce City Hall, St. Lucie County Airport, St. Lucie County Jail, Ft. Pierce Police Department, Florida East Coast Railroad, Emergency Operations Center, Florida Highway Patrol offices, Ft. Battalion Three:

The present Battalion 3 was created in December 2008 in district reorganization. The area of Battalion 3’s first response coverage encompasses sections of Port Saint Lucie and unincorporated Saint Lucie County.  The fire stations included in Battalion 3 are 10, 14, 16 & 17.  Battalions 3’s office and base station is at Fire Station #17 in Tradition.

Battalion Four:

Battalion 4 was created in October of 2008 as a means of reducing the span of control created by the addition of 2 new fire stations in the southwestern section of St. Lucie County. The new battalion also serves to reduce response times for Battalion Chiefs within the southwestern area of the county. The Battalion 4 office is located in station 12.

The response area includes The Saint Lucie Nuclear Power Plant, 6 large nursing homes, numerous assisted living facilities, a psychiatric hospital and Saint Lucie Medical Center. Other important facilities within the battalion are the City Center Complex, Port Saint Lucie City Hall and The Port Saint Lucie Police Department complex.  Also within the battalion are multiple major thoroughfares including US-1, PSL Blvd, Prima Vista Blvd., the Crosstown Parkway and parts of the Florida Turnpike. Areas of complexity within the zone involve approximately 3000 acres of the Savannahs State Preserve, the Intracoastal Waterway and the Saint Lucie River with its many tributaries.
