Kenneth Crooks received his undergraduate degree in political science from The Ohio State University (B.A. 1975, summa cum laude) and his law degree from The Ohio State University College of Law (J.D. 1977). He began his law career as law clerk and master commissioner for the Supreme Court of Ohio. In 1979, Mr. Crooks moved to Brevard County, Florida, and joined the Nabors, Potter law firm. For the next 13 years, he represented the Brevard County Board of County Commissioners. In 1993, Mr. Crooks joined the law firm of Dean Mead. For six years, he represented the St. Lucie County Fire District as its general counsel. In 2003, Mr. Crooks accepted his current position of Fire District Attorney, which is one of three positions appointed by the Fire District Board. The other positions are the Fire Chief and Clerk Treasurer. Mr. Crooks served as President of the Brevard County Bar Association in 2000, and is a current member of the Vassar Carlton American Inn of Court. He has been active in civic affairs, including as President of the North Brevard Kiwanis Club; Chairman of the Brevard Museum; President of the Brevard County Community Services Council; Canaveral District Chairman of the Boy Scouts of America; and is a current Board member of the Big Heart Brigade of the Treasure Coast. |
