Field Training Chief

The FTC is housed at Station 6, on east Midway Road, and is responsible for the operations of stations 6, 8, and 11. The FTC is also responsible for the operations of the three Field Training Officers (FTO's) which are stationed throughout the county.

The Field Training Chief responds to all major incidents in the “middle” of the county, which include:
Emergency Operations Center
SLCFD Administrative Complex
Saint Lucie County Sheriff’s Office
St. Lucie County Health Department
The Saint Lucie Nuclear Power Plant
New Horizons
Landfill
Tropicana

Major thoroughfares in this jurisdiction include US 1, Midway Road, Indian River Drive, A1A (Ocean Dr.), I-95, 25th Street.

The Field Training Chief is also responsible for the following: Paramedic Apprenticeship, Quality Assurance of EMS patient care reports, scheduling all training for the Operations Division, coordination/planning of training in conjunction with the Training and Safety Division, response to high acuity medical calls, coordination with the Infection Control Officer, and participation in the Medical Review Board.
