Fleet Maintenance

Responsibilities


The Fleet Maintenance Department is responsible for maintenance and repair of 128 Fire District vehicles. These vehicles range anywhere from small special event vehicles, staff vehicles, rescue trucks, pumper trucks, tanker trucks, ladder trucks, Special Operation units and also includes a Oshkosh Stryker 1500 ARFF (Airport Rescue and Fire fighting) truck.

Other items repaired and maintained by the fleet maintenance department include 19 station stand by generators, station fuel pumps and tanks, all small engines, and 19 jaws of life power units and tools. The Fleet Maintenance facility has 4 drive-through bays, a stationary 30,000 pound lift, 8 mobile column lifts rated at 18,000 pounds each, 6 ton over head crane and 2 shop trucks for mobile repairs.


Routine Maintenance


The Fleet Maintenance Staff allows the fire district to keep all of their apparatus in top running condition. All the vehicles come in for major work as well as regular maintenance. The Fleet maintenance staff also prepares and outfits all new vehicles to become fully operational.
